Dear Guest,

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Barrie Website.

This year presents as a big year for Barrie Rotarians.  It's our birthday and we have lots to celebrate!

Our club is the oldest in Barrie and will celebrate its 70th birthday this year.

We will also celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Rotary International Foundation.  The Foundation was established by Rotarians to provide funding assistance for the many good works that Rotarians engage in throughout the world.

Our neighbours in Camp Borden have been a big part of life in Barrie for many years and this year will celebrate their 100th Birthday.   We will be very pleased to support Men and Women of our Armed Forces through our participation in those celebrations.

Our great Country Canada, will celebrate its Sesquicentennial (150th) on July 1st,, 2017 and we have some very exciting plans for that day.  Please stay tuned for more information on that.

Last but by no means least it seems possible that the war against Polio, started in 1979, may be close to an end.  "We're This Close!"  We may see our first full year free from polio world wide, this year.

Rotary is the Premier Service organization in the world. With more than 1.2 million members world wide we have tremendous reach and resources. Good people sharing friendship and working shoulder to shoulder doing good things in this community and throughout the world.

If you are looking for a way to make a difference, please consider becoming a member of the Rotary Club of Barrie.  You couldn't pick a more exciting time to join than right now!

Unite with the other 1.2 million Rotarians and their partners world wide as we combine to finish the task of wiping out Polio in the world.  See the end of one herculean effort and be there to take part as we choose the next great task that will engage us as we move forward into a future free from Polio and its debilitating effects.

Sincerely,

G.J. (Gary) Kopp
